Honoring the Life and Legacy of Claudio Pannunzio

With deep sadness, The Patient Is U Foundation shares the passing of Claudio Pannunzio, our beloved Chairman of the Board, colleague, advocate, and friend.

Claudio was a man of extraordinary compassion, wisdom, and grace. He helped shape and elevate TPIU’s voice through his leadership, communications expertise, legislative visibility, and deep commitment to humane, patient-centered healthcare. His presence strengthened our mission, and his friendship enriched all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His Life

Claudio Pannunzio served TPIU with distinction and heart. As Chairman of the Board, he brought strategic insight, warmth, integrity, and a profound belief that healthcare must be delivered not only with skill, but also with compassion.

He was an accomplished marketing communications executive, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose career reflected both excellence and purpose. He served as CEO of I-Impact Group, advised senior business leaders on branding and growth, and was widely respected for his ability to connect ideas, people, and mission.

But Claudio’s impact reached far beyond business.

He was a trained interfaith chaplain, a Certified Senior Trainer in mindfulness and leadership, and a passionate advocate for emotional and spiritual support for those facing illness. As a two-time cancer survivor, Claudio understood suffering in a deeply personal way. He transformed that experience into service, offering comfort, encouragement, and hope to cancer patients and their families.

His work with Cancer Hope Network and Yale New Haven Health–Greenwich Hospital reflected the best of who he was: compassionate, present, generous, and deeply human. In 2023, he received Cancer Hope Network’s Michael Kzirian “Flame of Courage” Award in recognition of his exceptional courage, resilience, and meaningful impact on the lives of others.

At TPIU, Claudio was more than a leader. He was a trusted voice, a calming presence, and a true champion of compassionate healthcare. He believed in healing not only the body, but also the human spirit. He reminded us that empathy is not secondary to care; it is central to it.

We will remember Claudio for his kindness, wisdom, courage, spirituality, and unwavering devotion to helping others.

His legacy will live on in the mission he advanced, the people he comforted, and the example he set for all of us.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, Gabriella, and to the entire Pannunzio family. We hold them in our hearts with gratitude, compassion, and prayers.

Closing

We honor Claudio Pannunzio with gratitude, admiration, and love.
